Cortlandt Manor resident Christopher Lynch, 33, was arrested and charged with promoting child pornography through his computer, Westchester County DA Anthony Scarpino, Jr., announced, following a lengthy investigation.

According to Scarpino, “child pornography investigations often start with a report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which is sent to the New York State Internet Crimes Against Children, manned by the New York State Police.

“The information relating to Chris Lynch was forwarded from them to the Westchester District Attorney’s Office Cybercrime Bureau, which launched an investigation.”

The investigation into Lynch led to his arrest following the execution of a search warrant at his Cortlandt Manor home, where investigators discovered child porn on his computer on a Google server.

Lynch was arrested and charged in the Town of Cortlandt Justice Court on Friday, Dec. 20, and charged with promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child and possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child, both felonies. He was released and scheduled to appear back in court on Monday, Dec. 30 to respond to the charges.
